About This Route

A quick look at the problem, the direction taken, and the destination achieved.

Client

Shepley — a Cape Cod–based supplier of building materials and certified installer of Marvin Windows and Doors.

Role

Graphic Designer, A.W. Hastings — led vehicle wrap design and trade show marketing concept for Shepley’s Marvin Windows and Doors offering.

Challenge

Shepley wanted to transform a plain white service van into a mobile billboard that would advertise their Marvin Windows expertise everywhere it traveled across Cape Cod. The wrap needed to be visually bold, technically accurate for professional installers, and flexible enough to adapt to real vehicle dimensions and wrap specifications — all while telling a clear story about product quality and craftsmanship.

Approach

Vendor Collaboration & Specs
Researched and selected a Cape Cod–based vehicle wrap vendor, obtained mechanical drawings for the van, and worked closely with the installer to align artwork with real-world wrap requirements, seams, and panel breaks.

Image-Driven Storytelling
Sourced high-quality imagery that showcased Marvin Windows’ range of styles and finishes. Designed layouts where:

  • One side featured four window styles and a sliding glass door.
  • The opposite side highlighted a completed home with Marvin windows installed.

This created a clear “before-and-after” narrative across the van’s surfaces.

Illusion of Inside Access
Designed the rear panel to look like a glimpse inside the van, with a technician gathering tools from a neatly organized storage system — reinforcing professionalism, preparedness, and trust.

Iterative Client Review
Presented initial concepts to Shepley, refined composition, hierarchy, and branding based on feedback, and finalized a wrap-ready design that balanced brand storytelling with legibility at a distance.

Trade Show Mini-Van Extension
Proposed a scaled-down, remote-control “mini-van” for trade shows. Located an RC van with the right proportions, adapted the wrap artwork to scale, partnered with 3M for printable adhesive material, and produced a fully wrapped miniature that brought the concept to life in booth environments.

Outcome

Strengthened Shepley’s reputation as a professional, customer-centered partner for high-quality window and door installations.

Turned a standard service van into a mobile billboard, increasing Shepley’s visibility and reinforcing their role as a trusted Marvin Windows installer across Cape Cod.

Delivered production-ready artwork that installed cleanly and preserved the intended visual narrative on every panel.

Created a memorable trade show experience with the wrapped RC mini-van, giving sales teams a tangible, conversation-starting extension of the campaign.
